Blackberry Bramble Wedding Inspiration at The Greenhouse at Bittersweet | La Crosse, Wisconsin

Inspired by the rich beauty of blackberry vines and the charm of a greenhouse setting, Blackberry Bramble showcases a wedding day where organic details meet timeless sophistication. Hosted at The Greenhouse at Bittersweet in La Crosse, Wisconsin, this styled shoot layered berry-toned florals, elegant stationery, modern black-tie fashion, and beautifully curated reception décor into a romantic celebration designed to inspire couples planning a garden or greenhouse wedding.

Along with concept, coordination, and design from Northwoods Event Services, this styled shoot at The Greenhouse at Bittersweet was brought to life thanks to Abigail Peters Photography, Boxcar Photography, Whimsical Design & Decor, Hy-Vee, Charlotte’s Bridal & Formal Wear, Styled by Maria, Esthetician Devinne, Orange Door Event Rentals, Resource Vintage Rental, Event Essentials, and Privileged Model Management.

Whimsical Design & Decor created a stationery suite printed on luxurious white paper with torn edges. The suite layered an invitation, details insert, and RSVP card, wrapped in vellum and tied with a sage green ribbon. A blush envelope completed the set.

Printed pieces included a flowering blackberry branch motif, asymmetrically curved along the edges, top, or corners. The pieces also paired a handwritten script font with an all-caps serif font across the stationery suite, linen welcome sign, menu, place cards, and bar sign.

Hy-Vee La Crosse designed two distinct bouquet looks to showcase different floral and color inspiration: one monochromatic white and the other a mix of white, burgundy, and pale yellow hues. Blooms for the monochromatic bouquet included white roses, white anemones, green amaranthus, lilies, and veronica.

The burgundy bouquet featured white orchids, burgundy lilies, veronica, white roses, pale yellow hydrangea, and red amaranthus. Each bouquet also had a coordinating boutonniere for the groom: one was a traditional pin-on boutonniere and the other was a pocket boutonniere.

Multiple vendors collaborated on the tablescape and its décor inside The Greenhouse at Bittersweet, including Orange Door Event Rentals, with a collection of rental pieces; Resource Vintage Rental, which contributed the coupe glasses; and Event Essentials, which provided the textured napkins and table lamps.

At the tablescape, Hy-Vee designed a simple, elegant table runner with plums and greenery, complemented by pleated coupe glasses filled with blackberries to carry the fruit-inspired details throughout the design. Other notable pieces from Orange Door Event Rentals included gold flatware, white scalloped plates, woven chargers, and whitewashed bentwood chairs. 

Fashions by Charlotte’s Bridal & Formal Wear offered a modern twist on a classic black-tie style. Bridal model Kara from Privileged Model Management wore a strapless, scoop-neck gown with a structured, pleated bodice and a basque waist that tapered into a voluminous tulle skirt for a ball gown silhouette. She accessorized with a trendy skinny scarf and pearl drop earrings.

Model Ethan wore a sharp black suit, black dress shoes, and a white dress shirt with black buttons. Instead of a traditional tie or bow tie, he left the top two buttons unbuttoned to give his look a more relaxed finish.

Styled by Maria secured Kara’s hair into a textured, low twist bun with loosely curled face-framing pieces. She adorned the bun with pearls, blackberries, and baby’s breath for a stunning finishing touch.

The historic Bittersweet Flower Market property includes a country barn, a greenhouse, and plenty of beautiful outdoor landscapes. Among the spaces styled inside The Greenhouse at Bittersweet, the team created an inviting lounge area showcasing a comfortable gathering space for wedding guests.

The lounge featured neutral-toned velvet furniture, a wooden coffee table, and gold end tables from Orange Door Event Rentals, along with floral arrangements by Hy-Vee.

Esthetician Devinne channeled subtle shadows and berry hues for the bridal makeup, beginning with a shimmering smoky eye that darkened towards the outer edges. A soft cat-eye and full lashes added a touch more drama to the eyes, while cool berry shades accentuated the cheeks and lips.

Later, the styled shoot moved to the bar at The Greenhouse at Bittersweet, where the venue created rich purple cocktails accented with blackberries to tie into the fruit-inspired theme. The bar featured a coordinating sign from Whimsical Design & Decor, a floral arrangement by Hy-Vee, and additional blackberry-filled coupe glasses that completed the bar design.

For dessert, Hy-Vee created a two-tier white cake with frosted details. Florals, greenery, and fruit added pops of color and carried the Blackberry Bramble theme into the cake design.

The couple finished the shoot by sharing a bite of cake, which was a sweet ending made even more fitting by the fact that the two models are newlyweds themselves.
