Steeped in deep, rich burgundy, this styled shoot at Le Chateau celebrates bold individuality and unapologetic creativity. Non-traditional and non-conforming, the concept embraces a mix-and-match, Avant Garde approach: edgy, theatrical, and overflowing with personality. Coordinated and designed by Cowboy David's Bakery, who also created a striking monochromic cake, the result is a luxurious, over-the-top celebration of diversity, abundance, and love, all tied together in a single, dramatic hue.
Along with Cowboy David's Bakery, this warm and dramatic styled shoot at Le Chateau was brought to life by Boxcar Photography, Bloom & Knot, LK Bridal Studio, Charlotte's Bridal & Formal Wear, Su Casa Salon & Bridal Suite, Hair by Kandis at Pamperin Salon, Event Essentials, Ever After Entertainment, and a wonderful group of models.
Boxcar Photography expertly navigated outdoor and indoor spaces, often with minimal natural light or with colored light, to capture photos and video that balanced fine art with candid moments. Watch their preview video, then keep scrolling to see all of the details.
LK Bridal Studio helped set the tone for this styled shoot with cohesive stationery and signage pieces. They began with rich reds, in varying shades of crimson, russet, and maroon. The invitation and details card featured ornate red floral borders, radial gradient backgrounds, and an ornate title font paired with a sans-serif font. Additional pieces included a custom menu, name cards, a welcome sign, and drink & dessert signs.
Located in the historic Mons Anderson House, Le Chateau is a lovingly restored venue, preserving its mid-nineteenth-century roots with authentic decor that reflects the house's blend of Gothic Revival and Italian Villa styles. Now an elegant French restaurant, Le Chateau had many gorgeous spaces to host this wedding editorial, including a ceremony space in the lounge, a bar, a dining room, and the front lawn.
Florist Bloom & Knot used creative arrangements to enhance every corner of the venue--as well as some of the fashions! For the couple, Bloom & Knot sculpted a floral shrug and a floral bowtie. Their witnesses were given a floral sleeve and a floral boutonniere.
At the ceremony space, lush arrangements consisting of red roses, red carnations, amaranthus, dyed baby's breath, dark berries, eucalyptus leaves, and other foliage, were draped across the mantel of Le Chateau's historic fireplace. Additional blooms sat upon pedestals of various heights or on the floor beside acrylic columns containing candelabras.
Le Chateau showcased a colorful array of drink options at their bar. They paired the drinks with a charcuterie board featuring cured meats, cheeses, fruits, and vegetables. Accent colored lights provided by Ever After Entertainment added drama to the setting in the bar space.
The charming wine cellar and antique spiral staircase at Le Chateau provide picture-perfect, romantic backdrops for unforgettable couple portraits.
Framed beneath soaring ceilings and a glowing chandelier, and surrounded by bookcases and ornate wooden paneling, the tablescape looked fit for royalty. The long table was draped with cascading tablecloths from Event Essentials in silken and velvet textures. Bloom & Knot provided a bold floral runner that spanned the length of the table, styled all the way to the floor, where it nestled into the long, flowing fabrics.
Textured sashes draped across the backs of the wooden chairs, nearly touching the diamond-patterned wooden floors. On the table, decor elements included gold chargers and tableware, dark plates, velvet linens, candles, and two-tone crystal glasses.
Cowboy David's Bakery constructed a three-tiered, monotone cake, presented on a similarly colored pedestal. Rich hues artfully coated the round tiers, reflecting the light, while abstract geometric pieces and asymmetrical florals adorned the masterpiece.
Fashion, hair, and beauty were central to the unique and moody aesthetic of this styled shoot. Charlotte's Bridal & Formal Wear selected coordinated, yet distinctive, pieces for the couple and witnesses that reflected personality and artistry. The couple wore suits with inversely colored undershirts (black and burgundy, burgundy and black), accentuated with wearable florals and a mix of satin and velvet textures.
One witness wore a floor-length formal gown with a floral sleeve, and the other wore a black kilt secured with a belt, and accessorized with black knee-socks, boots, a burgundy suit coat, and a floral lapel.
Other guests wore an array of suits and dresses ranging from semi-formal to formal. Highlights included a luxe red and black floral suit jacket, a red gown with a trendy skinny scarf, and a charming suspender ensemble.
Hair by Kandis at Pamperin Salon provided makeup artistry for all the models. Looks varied from subtle to bold, with some models wearing lighter, shimmering tones, and others brushed with a smoky eye or dark eyeliner. Hair by Su Casa Salon & Bridal Boutique worked with hair of various lengths and textures. They fashioned simple, slicked-back styles, loose waves, and tousled ends, often embellished with pearls.
