Maddie & Aaron's whimsical wedding at Hidden Meadow and Barn was filled with color, love, and a heartwarming butterfly moment honoring Aaron's late father. Explore their magical day featuring joyful florals, romantic fashion, and meaningful details-all beautifully captured in this real Wisconsin wedding story.
Twenty days after their Tinder match led to an amazing first date, Aaron officially--and enthusiastically--asked Maddie to be his girlfriend. By then, they had already become inseparable, spending as much time as possible in one another's company and bonding over shared interests and activities. Their relationship was further solidified by their shared love of animals, with the couple eventually moving in together and adopting two cats and a dog.
Knowing he had found the one, Aaron planned a heartfelt Thanksgiving Day proposal surrounded by family, both in-person and virtually. He got down on one knee at Maddie's grandparents' house, a special location from her childhood, while his family watched the excitement on FaceTime, allowing everyone to share the joy.

Maddie and Aaron took their time planning their dream wedding day, tying the knot two years later in a whimsical and colorful celebration at Hidden Meadow and Barn. In the meantime, Paper Rock Scissor designed a cheerful stationery suite for the couple, including floral imagery and pastel pinks and greens.
One of the most magical and heartwarming parts of the day was completely unplanned, beginning just before the couple shared a first look. Aaron's father, Jack, passed away when Aaron was young, so the couple had planned to have a ceremony butterfly release to honor him. However, butterflies surrounded the soon-to-be-newlyweds long before then, landing gracefully on Maddie's bouquet and dress during the couple's first look and subsequent couple photos.
Maddie reflected, "It truly was special and felt like Jack was there in that moment. Looking back at that day, it rained during our ceremony, so the butterflies were unable to fly. Maybe Aaron's dad knew that and knew this was when he could make his presence known. Truly special."
When it came to fashion, Maddie chose an ethereal princess gown from Charlotte's Bridal & Formalwear, completed by a cathedral-length veil and sparkling hairpiece. The dress itself had many playful details, including beaded spaghetti straps, a structured, semi-sheer bodice adorned with lace detailing, and a full tulle skirt and train. Her bridesmaids each selected their own pink dress, with shades ranging from mauve to bold jewel tones, an array of necklines, different fabrics, and even patterns.
The hair and makeup team, Bianca Nydia and Taylor Marie Beauty LLC, respectively, focused on creating an effortlessly beautiful glow for the bride and her entourage. Maddie's hair was styled into a loose updo, with whimsical wavy strands to frame her face. Her makeup enhanced her natural beauty with a soft, smokey eyeshadow, lightly rouged cheeks, and a subtle lip shade.
Aaron wore a lightly heathered blue suit from Men's Wearhouse with a crisp white undershirt and a floral-patterned tie. His groomsmen wore matching gray suits and brown shoes, applying their individual styles to unique but coordinating ties.
Their wedding planner, Lasting Impressions, helped guide the couple through every detail of the day, including timelines and vendor coordination, and kept the schedule running smoothly when the weather brought a brief drizzle of rain.
Florist Hudra Floral brought Maddie's dreams of being surrounded by florals to life, arranging bold and colorful bouquets for the bride and bridal party, as well as larger installations surrounding a fireplace as a gorgeous ceremony backdrop. Hudra Floral also sculpted a lush floral runner for the head table and bud vases at the reception.
Savannah Steiger Photography enhanced every rich, vibrant moment of the day, capturing both posed and candid moments, from the preparation suites to the last dance.
Highlights from the reception included catering and desserts from Meatheads Catering, a candy and snack bar, signature drinks with the names of the couple's pets, a champagne tower, and music and entertainment by DJ Dewy.
There are many resources available when planning a wedding (like our FREE magazine!), but ultimately, a few variables simply cannot be predicted. Weather forecasts, especially in Wisconsin, can change in a matter of minutes or hours, often with little to no warning.
For engaged couples considering tying the knot during a warmer month, Maddie advises, "If you're a bride who is also nervous about rain on your wedding day but wants a chance for an outdoor ceremony, pick a place both indoors and outdoors just to ease any of that stress."
